However, publishing data is not enough; it is equally important to describe it precisely so that people and machines can discover and reuse it easily.In this webinar, Makx Dekkers, an information technology expert and a contributor to DCAT v.2, gives a general introduction to:Data Catalog Vocabulary (DCAT) that enables data publishers to describe datasets and data services in a catalogue using a standard model and vocabulary that facilitates interoperability between data catalogues published on the Web, andDCAT Application profile for data portals in Europe (DCAT-AP), a specification for describing public sector datasets in Europe, curated by the European Commission. It is used by the EU Open Data Portal and the European Data Portal.The webinar is intended for all users and does not require prior knowledge. Target group: data stewards in EU institutions and in particular people who describe data assets in internal catalogues and/or on EU ODP.Before the webinar participants are encouraged to read the materials from the reading list.
