Actually, everybody loves silent walking in the snow, hearing the cracking under the shoes and everybody loves the freshness of the face after being outdoors all day in the snow.

No matter if you are skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, or sled sliding, you should visit the ski resorts in North Macedonia for their breathtaking beauty and memorable snow sight.

Ski Center Popova Sapka

Popova Sapka

Popova Šapka is the biggest ski centre and the closest one to Skopje (70 km distance). Situated in the Šar Mountain (Šar Planina), the resort is well-known for its excellent snow and nice sceneries. Even though is the oldest one and the ski lifts are dating back to the time, advanced skiers prefer this ski centre for its exciting ski piste Ceripasina. Also, there are many free ride options and snowcat tours

Resort Mavrovo

 Resort Mavrovo 

Resort Mavrovo is the most attractive ski resort with various touristic offers and content, located in the West, 95 kilometers from Skopje. It is easily accessible for beginners but also challenging for professional skiers & snowboarders, yet also a popular resort with high-quality accommodation and well-established services. In the winter Resort Mavrovo is the host of many concerts, DJ parties, and tournaments which makes it the most visited ski resort in the country.

Kruševo

Kruševo is a mountainous town with a lovely little ski centre. Situated at an altitude of 1,350 meters Kruševo is the highest town in North Macedonia, well known for its 19th-century Ottoman architecture. This place is recommended for a holiday combined with history excursion, architectural sightseeing and snow sports opportunities for beginners.

Nize Pole

Nize Pole 

Mostly visited by locals, Nize Pole Ski Centre is located above the village Nizhe Pole on the slopes of Baba Mountain at an altitude of 1,300 – 1,610 m above sea level. From Bitola to the ski center Nizhe Pole leads a 15 km asphalt road. The ski centre has three ski lifts with a total length of 2,150 meters and a capacity of 3,000 passengers per hour. Usually, the ski season starts at the beginning of December and lasts until the end of March.

Other smaller winter destinations are Kopanki in the region of Bitola and Ponikva, 20 km north of Kocani, but these two only have one beginner ski path.

North Macedonia has a true diversity of winter destinations. It depends on what do you expect from one day outdoors in the snow.
