Dear community,
The 29th of May 1986 was the first time the European flag was raised in the Brussels in the European Commission's headquarter: the Berlaymont building. This day marks the anniversary of the symbolic unity within Europe, which was six years before the European Union was officially established on November 1st 1993.
Fun fact behind the flag: did you know that the 12 stars on the EU flag has nothing to with the amount countries that are in the European union? The number of stars was choses as the number 12 is symbol for completeness and perfection.
