Hi, beautiful people!

While we last practiced Romanian through the local cuisine, today we will learn how to talk about our family. You will first learn some basic words to introduce your family members, and then I will write a short paragraph about my family! Feel free to do the same in the comments ❤

  • family = familie
  • relatives = rude
  • father = tatã
  • mother = mamã
  • brother = frate
  • sister = soră
  • grandfather: bunic
  • grandmother: bunică
  • uncle: unchi
  • aunt: mătușă
  • cousin (male): verișor
  • cousin (female): verișoară

RO: Nu pot spune că am o familie mare.

EN: I can't say that I have a large family. I am an only child, I don't have any brothers or sisters. However, I love the times when we all gather together. My father's brother, my uncle, has a son and a daughter, my cousins, both older than me. We usually gather for important holidays, like Christmas and Easter. I also have a distant cousin, and her mother, my aunt, is very funny.

Last but not least, if you want to learn more and hear the pronunciation of the new vocabulary you learned, here is an OLS course about family that you might find interesting!
