Dan slovenske hrane (razglašen s strani Vlade
Republike Slovenije) in projekt Tradicionalni slovenski zajtrk se vsako leto
izvaja tretji petek v mesecu novembru. Letos je obeleževanje potekalo v
petek, 17. novembra pod sloganom: »Kruh
za zajtrk - super dan!«, in v letu 2023 že trinajstič.
Poleg medu, zelo pomembne sestavine slovenske prehrane, Tradicionalni slovenski zajtrk sestavljajo še kruh, maslo, mleko in jabolko ali drugo slovensko sadje. Letos je več pozornosti namenjeno kruhu.
Prehrani otrok in mladostnikov posvečajo mnogo pozornosti v vseh družbenih sistemih, kar kaže na to, da je izjemnega družbenega pomena. Slovenija je ena izmed redkih držav, ki ima organiziran sistem prehrane otrok in mladostnikov. Ta je urejen na nivoju države in je tudi uzakonjen, zato imajo otroci in mladostniki v vzgojno-izobraževalnih zavodih organizirano prehrano z različnimi prehranskimi obroki (zajtrk, malica, kosilo) vsak dan.
Namen projekta Tradicionalni slovenski zajtrk je, da se na ta dan otrokom in mladostnikom z raznolikimi vzgojno-izobraževalnimi dejavnostmi še posebej predstavi pomen zdravih prehranjevalnih navad, zdravega načina življenja, trajnostnega prehranjevanja, zmanjšanja odpadne hrane, kulture prehranjevanja, pomena hrane iz naše bližine – lokalne hrane ter značilne tradicionalne jedi, najbolj tradicionalno za ta dan pa je, da se otrokom v vzgojno-izobraževalnih zavodih postreže slovenski tradicionalni zajtrk.

The Slovene Food Day (declared by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia) and the Traditional Slovene Breakfast project are held every year on the third Friday in November. This year, the celebration took place on Friday 17 November under the slogan: "Bread for breakfast - great day!", and for the 13th time in 2023.
In addition to honey, an essential ingredient of the Slovene diet, the Traditional Slovene Breakfast consists of bread, butter, milk and an apple or other Slovene fruit. This year, more attention is being paid to bread.
The nutrition of children and students receives a great deal of attention in all social systems, which shows that it is of the utmost social importance. Slovenia is one of the few countries with an organized child and adolescent nutrition system. It is regulated at the national level and is also put into law so that children and adolescents in educational establishments have an organized diet with different nutritional meals (breakfast, snack, lunch) every day.
The aim of the Traditional Slovene Breakfast project is to introduce students and young people to the importance of healthy eating habits, healthy lifestyles, sustainable eating, reducing food waste, the culture of eating, the importance of food from our neighborhood - local food and typical traditional dishes, and most traditionally, to serve a traditional Slovene breakfast to students in educational establishments on this day.
