Whether you are a museum enthusiast or not, you will be after visiting at least one of these cool museums! Romania isn't just about Bran Castle – it's a country filled with history, art, and unique stories.
Without further ado, I present to you a list of the top 10 must-visit museums in your new home, Romania.
1. The Village Museum in Bucharest
Imagine strolling through a place frozen in time—that's the Village Museum in Bucharest. This open-air museum brings together traditional Romanian houses from different regions, so it feels like traveling all around the country in just a few hours. After visiting the museum, take your time to take a stroll around Mihai I Park!

2. National Museum of Art of Romania in Bucharest
The building of this museum is a former royal palace, showcasing Romanian art from medieval icons to contemporary pieces. Beside its permanent collection, I suggest you explore the temporary exhibitions and cultural events as well!
3. ASTRA Museum of Traditional Folk Civilization in Sibiu
This museum is like a living book about the Romanian country life! Picture a huge outdoor museum with windmills, watermills and traditional houses. I suggest you take a slow walk and immerse yourself in the traditional Romanian culture.
4. The Grigore Antipa National Museum of Natural History in Bucharest
The Grigore Antipa National Museum of Natural History is a captivating journey through nature. Named after the famous biologist Grigore Antipa, the museum showcases an extensive collection of specimens, animals and interactive exhibits. From prehistoric fossils to ecosystems, it's a treasure of natural history where you won’t get bored!

Sibiu is definitely one of my favorite places in Transylvania! At the Brukenthal National Museum you will notice a lot of Baroque art. Get lost in the fine details of old books, drawings, and other decorative arts from Romania and Europe.
6. Ceauşescu’s Mansion in Bucharest
The “Ceauşescu Mansion," also known as the “Spring Palace," was the private residence of Nicolae and Elena Ceauşescu, the former communist leaders of Romania, between 1965-1989. However, it still stands frozen in time with a great display of golden pieces and impressive art.
