Where Are You Going On Mobility With Erasmus+ or ESC?
Hello everyone,
Welcome to the Living Abroad forum!
Going on a mobility program is an incredibly enriching and exciting experience.
This forum is the place where you look for answers, inspiration and of course new OLS friends. So, let’s all share a bit about our living abroad plans and experience with the community!
To kick things off, I will share first:
I was born in Maribor, Slovenia, and studied/lived
in Koper, Slovenia for ten years. I do remember doing a 14-day course in
Spanish in Granada, Spain while being a student. Still, my first mobility program
experience was a 2-month fieldwork for my BA research at the University of
Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I observed Slovene Schools and libraries, and
a few years later 2 years of fieldwork in Canada volunteering in the Slovene
community in different fields: teaching 6th Grade in the Slovene school
Toronto, I was a Chief-editor of bilingual Slovene-English Glasilo magazine,
member of the board of All Slovenian Cultural Committee and many more – this
experience definitely shaped my character and made it broader from living inside
one country/one culture to switch continents, and still working with Slovenia,
so in three time-zones at the same time (Maribor, Toronto ON, Regina SK). Since
2016, I have been back in Slovenia, but I still like to travel visit friends or
conferences, and work abroad remotely from here, usually representing Slovene
market.
Now it's your turn to share!
Where are you
from? And where are you going to go with your mobility program? Are you looking
forward to moving? Or if you have already moved, share the best thing about
where you live!
Looking forward to hearing your stories!
Alenka, OLS Community Manager – Slovene
