Dear community,

Whenever you go abroad it’s always good to learn a few basics, especially when you’re moving there. In this post you will find a lesson of basic greetings in Czech that, when used, will sure be appreciated by locals.

Greetings Lesson:

  • Hello – Ahoj

  • Goodbye – Ahoj

  • Good morning – Dobré ráno

  • Good afternoon – Dobré odpoledne

  • Good evening – Dobrý večer

  • My name is … – Jmenuji se ...

  • What is your name? – Jak se jmenuješ ty?

  • Nice to meet you – Rád tě poznávám

  • How are you? – Jak se máš?

  • I’m fine thank you – Já dobře, děkuji.

  • Please – Prosím

  • Thank you – Děkuji

  • Excuse me – Promiň

I hope you enjoyed this lesson! Let me know in the comments below if you have already used some greetings in Czech and how the locals reacted.

Warm regards,
