Dear community, 

Whenever you go abroad it’s always good to learn a few basics, especially when you’re moving there. In this post you will find a lesson of basic greetings in Hungarian that, when used, will sure be appreciated by locals. 

Greetings Lesson: 

  • Hello – Szia!

  • Goodbye – Viszlát!  

  • Good morning – Jó reggelt!

  • Good afternoon – Jó napot!

  • Good evening – Jó estét!  

  • My name is … – Az én nevem ... 

  • What is your name? – Hogy hívnak? 

  • Nice to meet you – Örülök, hogy találkoztunk.  

  • How are you? – Hogy vagy? 

  • I’m fine thank you – Köszönöm, jól.  

  • Please – Kérem 

  • Thank you – Köszönöm 

  • Excuse me – Elnézést
