Since train travel is one of the most sustainable ways of travelling around, this blog post presents a fun way to travel by train around Europe: Interrail! I will first present what Interrail is, followed by some tips on how to make your trip better, two examples of traveling routes starting from Romania and ending with a fun way to win an Interrail pass thanks to OLS!

What is Interrail?

An Interrail pass is basically your golden ticket to easy travel across Europe. You can have access to over 33 countries and 40,000 destinations with just one pass, so you can tailor your trip in any way you want.

Tips to make your trip better

First, you will need to purchase (or win – read at the end of the article) your Interrail Pass. The next step is to activate it, as most Interrail passes require activation before your first journey. Activation can typically be done online or at a train station. Then, you will need to plan your itinerary and check any reservations requirements (some high-speed or international trains may require seat reservations – check everything on the official Interrail website).
