Hello everyone!

Welcome in the Spring!

Finally, the days are becoming longer, sunnier and warmer. March 21st is celebrated as Pierwszy Dzień Wiosny (The first day of the spring), when nature wakes up after her three-month-long winter hibernation. Last year I mentioned to you that it has been often called dzień wagarowicza (the day of playing truant) - where schoolkids and students would traditionally skip school – but remember, that not all the teachers respect this tradition, in fact, nowadays many seem to have forgotten about dzień wagarowicza, so be careful and don't skip classes.

Today is also observed as World Poetry Day. It was declared by UNESCO "to support linguistic diversity through poetic expression". A nice way to celebrate it would be to read a poem in Polish - you can easily find them online, and see how much you can understand. I'm sure you know some of the names of great Polish poets - Wisława Szymborska, Czesław Miłosz or my absolute favourite - Cyprian Kamil Norwid... Have you read any of their poems before? Do you have favourite poets who write in your language? Share them with me below!
