Ahojte, všetci a všetky!
We have a forum post with basic Slovak greetings and phrases that will get you around in everyday situations (you can find it here). However, Slovak language is pretty playful and that demonstrates in greetings options as well. Let’s have a look at some less formal ways of addressing someone.

Zdravím
This greeting is often used when you are not sure whether to address someone with formal and informal you (read more about this) or if you want to be more familiar. It’s used only when meeting, not for parting.
Čau, Čauko
These are equivalents of “Ahoj” but a bit more informal. They are used both for meeting and parting. “Čau” can have an unlimited number of variations: čauky, čaves, čaviky, čauko kakauko…
Nazdar
This is also a very common informal greeting used for meeting.
