World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development
The World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, celebrated annually on May 21st, is an important initiative led by UNESCO. This day not only highlights the rich tapestry of global cultures but also emphasizes the crucial role of intercultural dialogue in achieving peace and sustainable development. Notably, 89% of all current conflicts occur in countries with low levels of intercultural dialogue, underscoring the urgency of strengthening this dialogue to foster effective cooperation and sustain peace.

According to UNESCO data, the cultural and creative sector is a powerful driver of development worldwide. It accounts for more than 48 million jobs globally, with nearly half held by women, representing 6.2% of all existing employment and 3.1% of global GDP. Significantly, this sector employs and provides opportunities for the largest number of young people under the age of 30, making it a vital contributor to economic growth and youth empowerment.
