Hello language enthusiasts,

On the International Day for Countering Hate Speech, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the importance of fostering respectful and inclusive communities.

One will surely agree that learning a new language opens doors to understanding diverse cultures and perspectives. As Erasmus students, immersing yourself in a new linguistic environment fosters empathy and reduces biases.

This deeper cultural appreciation empowers you to combat hate speech effectively. By using inclusive and respectful language, you promote understanding and tolerance. Educational institutions play a vital role by integrating anti-hate speech content into curricula and encouraging intercultural dialogues.

As language learners and global citizens, you are uniquely positioned to challenge hate speech and build inclusive communities.

Do you agree?

From your point of view, how did language learning help you better incorporate anti-hate speech content?

What strategies are effective for dealing with hate speech when you encounter it?

How can Erasmus students use their multicultural experiences to promote understanding and counteract hate speech in their home countries?

Share your experiences and strategies to inspire others in the fight against hate.
