Welcome to today's vocabulary lesson about inventions. If you haven't yet, I invite you to read the new blog post about Famous Romanian Inventions that Changed Our Lives. And now, let's dive into some common terms for inventions and their Romanian translations!
1. Invention - Invenție
- Example: Telefonul mobil este o invenție importantă. (The mobile phone is an important invention.)
2. Technology - Tehnologie
- Example: Tehnologia modernă a schimbat lumea. (Modern technology has changed the world.)
3. Machine - Mașinărie
- Example: Această mașinărie este foarte complicată. (This machine is very complicated.)
4. Device - Dispozitiv
- Example: Folosesc un dispozitiv electronic pentru citit. (I use an electronic device for reading.)
5. Patent - Brevet
- Example: A obținut un brevet pentru invenția sa. (He obtained a patent for his invention.)
6. Discovery - Descoperire
- Example: Aceasta este o descoperire științifică majoră. (This is a major scientific discovery.)
7. Engineer - Inginer
- Example: Tatăl meu este inginer. (My father is an engineer.) Yup, he truly is!
8. Electricity - Electricitate
- Example: Electricitatea este esențială pentru viața modernă. (Electricity is essential for modern life.)
And now, let's practise with a few phrases!
1. What is your favorite invention? - Care este invenția ta preferată?
2. This device has many functions. - Acest dispozitiv are multe funcții.
3. He is an engineer specializing in robotics.- El este un inginer specializat în robotică.
4. Innovation drives technological advancement. - Inovația stimulează avansarea tehnologică.
