From October 2-5, 2024, the 55th "Joy of Europe" festival will be held under the theme "How Wisdom Grows," marking the 50th anniversary of Budimir Nešić’s book. Established in 1969, this festival has become one of the largest children's events in Europe, promoting friendship and cultural exchange among young participants. Organized by the Children's Cultural Center Belgrade, the event will gather children from across Europe and Namibia.

Highlights include a carnival, concerts, an art exhibition, and an eco-sports day. Participants from 12 countries, including Serbia, will stay with local families and showcase their traditions.

Event Schedule:

Wednesday, October 2nd

  • 10:30 am: Welcome Reception at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia
  • 12:00 pm: Carnival from Republic Square to Kalemegdan
  • 12:30 pm: Opening Ceremony at the Partizan Basketball Courts, Kalemegdan
  • 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm: XXVI International Art Contest – Art Gathering, Exhibition Opening, and Awards Ceremony at the Gallery and Small Hall of the Children's Cultural Center Belgrade

Thursday, October 3rd

  • 6:00 pm: Gala Concert at the MTS Hall

Friday, October 4th

  • 10:00 am: "Friendship Encounters" Concerts – I concert featuring Hungary, Namibia, Poland, Slovakia, Serbia, Montenegro, and Czech Republic at the “Donka Špiček” Hall
  • 1:30 pm: II concert featuring Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Germany, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Serbia

Saturday, October 5th

  • 10:00 am: Eco Action and Fun-Recreational Program at Ušće Park
