Hello everyone!
Have you heard of the Danish (and Nordic) tradition of friluftsliv? It’s the philosophy of open-air living that encourages spending time outdoors, no matter the season. Friluftsliv is about appreciating nature in everyday life, and in Denmark, you’ll see it embraced in fascinating ways—from biking in all weather to letting babies nap outside in prams while parents enjoy a cozy coffee indoors!
How do you see Danes practicing friluftsliv around you? Have you tried any outdoor activities that are new or different from back home, like hygge camping, coastal swimming, or forest picnics? If this philosophy isn’t part of your lifestyle back home, is it something you’d like to try or even continue once you leave Denmark? If you are interested in reading further about this phenomena, please check out the blog post I've written here.
Let’s share our experiences and insights into friluftsliv! Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast or just dipping your toes into this Nordic tradition, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
I look forward to hearing from you!
