The much-anticipated Advent in Zagreb officially commenced on November 30, 2024, and continues until January 7, 2025. However, the festivities will unofficially begin earlier with a “warm-up period,” starting on November 29, allowing some locations to open before the grand launch. This year, Advent will span 18 locations, offering a rich and diverse program.

Advent 2024 Locations
Advent will once again skip the Upper Town, but favorite locations such as Zrinjevac Park, Ban Jelačić Square, European Square, Strossmayer Square, Tomislavac Park, and nearby streets will remain lively hubs of activity. Tomislavac Parkis again hosting the popular Ice Park, celebrating its 10th anniversary.
Last year’s Caffe de Matoš moved from the Strossmayer Promenade to Masarykova and Preradovićeva Streets, transforming into the “Legendary Advent” experience. This year, it relocates to Ban Jelačić Square with a new program, featuring fresh exhibitors and festive delights to try on.
A fresh addition to Advent is Dolac Market, which will host festive PLACe pop-ups on December 6 and 13. Chefs and restaurateurs will bring signature holiday specialties, adding a gourmet touch to the market.
Old Favorites Return
The ever-popular Fuliranje (Fooling Around) will adopt the theme “Who Sings, Means No Harm,” celebrating Zagreb’s heritage. This season, it brings an authentic blend of food, music, and local charm to Štros.
The Oleander Terrace at Hotel Esplanade will deliver a refined culinary experience and from December 2–7, Britanac Square will host a lively urban food truck market, offering street food, music, and family-friendly entertainment.
Exciting New Features
- Kvatrić Square: Introducing the "Jinglingz" program with Christmas-themed booths, festive dishes, and live performances, including Hari Rončević at the grand opening.
- Advent in Passage: The historic Jägerhorn Hotel will present a cozy and intimate Advent setting with festive decor.
- Advent on Tuškanac: Adding a hint of wilderness to the festivities atop Nazorova Street.
Cultural Delights
The city will come alive with holiday melodies through the Advent Classics and Merry Melodies programs. Iconic venues like the new Natural History Museum, the Chocolate Museum, and Zagreb’s art galleries will host exhibitions and workshops celebrating the season.
Visitors can also enjoy a Ball on Gradec, beginning December 14, with a stunning light installation leading to a grand chandelier at Klovićevi Dvori, evoking a magical ballroom atmosphere.
Enchanting Displays
The Grič Tunnel will transform into the North Pole, inspired by The Polar Express, while Ribnjak Park welcomes back the beloved Moon Garden.
