My Local Area
Understanding how to describe where we live helps us connect with others and share our daily experiences. In Irish, we use "baile" (town), "cathair" (city), or "sráidbhaile" (village) to describe different types of places. We can add simple descriptions using "mór" (big), "beag" (small), or "álainn" (beautiful). These words help us paint a picture of our community in Irish.
Exercise: Describe your local area by:
- Saying what type of place it is (baile/cathair/sráidbhaile)
- Naming two places nearby (siopa/páirc/scoil)
- Adding one description using an adjective
- Telling us one thing you like about it using "Is maith liom..."
