One of the best parts of being on Erasmus in Slovakia is its central location in Europe, offering easy access to several fascinating cities. Whether you're interested in history, culture, or nightlife, there are plenty of incredible destinations just a short trip away.
For example, Vienna, the capital of Austria, is only a few hours away by train. Known for its imperial history, stunning architecture, and vibrant cultural scene, it’s a favorite for weekend trips. Similarly, Budapest, the capital of Hungary, offers beautiful views along the Danube River, famous thermal baths, and a lively atmosphere. Prague, in the Czech Republic, is also a must-see, with its medieval charm, iconic Charles Bridge, and bustling Old Town Square.
Other cities further afield, like Kraków in Poland or Berlin in Germany, are just a short journey away and offer unique experiences. Erasmus participants in Slovakia often take advantage of the relatively low travel costs and the many affordable transport options, like buses and trains, to explore these nearby destinations.
