Have you ever heard of the celebration of "slava" as part of Serbian culture?
In brief, slava is the feast of the family's saint patron. Every family in Serbia has a saint patron and it is celebrated once a year. Even those who are not very (or not at all) religious choose to celebrate as it is a wonderful opportunity to gather with beloved friends and family and experience that sense of community.
