Irish Mini-Contest: Caption the Image!
"Comórtas Beag: Cur Síos ar an nGrianghraf!" (Mini-contest: Caption the Image!)
Dia Dhaoibh!
We have something exciting and creative for you to join: a mini-contest running until the 30th June, starting today! When you participate in this contest, you'll have a chance of winning a €50.00 Gift Voucher for the purchase of books or e-books on [this verified website].
Tá deis iontach anseo! (There's a wonderful opportunity here!) Everyone who joins the mini-contest has an equal chance of winning, and there will be one winner chosen at random via raffle.
TÁBHACHTACH: Ní bheidh an comórtas bailí ach má ghlacann 5 duine ar a laghad páirt ann. (IMPORTANT: The contest will only be valid if a minimum of 5 people participate.) So make sure to spread the news with your fellow mobility participants and Irish language learners!
Conas is féidir leat páirt a ghlacadh? (How can you participate?)
- Cuir isteach do fhreagra (Send in your submission) by writing a caption related to the image below in the comment section. The image will be related to climate change topics - perfect for practicing your environmental vocabulary in Irish!
- Caithfidh an téacs a bheith i nGaeilge (The text must be in Irish). Don't worry if your Irish isn't perfect - this is about creativity and practice!
- The caption should describe the situation in the photo in one sentence (this could be anywhere from a few words up to 30 words). Think about using weather vocabulary, environmental terms, or descriptive phrases you've learned.
- Spriocdháta: (Deadline:) 30th June 2025 (25ú Lá do Mí Meitheamh)
Rialacha Tábhachtacha (Important Rules):
- Please keep your captions respectful and appropriate. If you're unsure, check our OLS Forum Netiquette and House Rules
- Ní féidir ach freagra amháin a chur isteach (You can only submit one response)
- Buaiteoir amháin (One winner only)
Examples to inspire you:
- Weather: "Tá sé ag cur báistí go trom" (It's raining heavily)
- Environment: "Tá an dúlra i mbaol" (Nature is in danger)
- Action: "Caithfimid an domhan a chosaint" (We must protect the world)
Let's get started with the assignment!
Lig do shamhlaíocht saor! (Let your imagination run free!) This is your chance to be creative while practicing your Irish. Check the image below and think about what story it tells in Irish:
