Hello Everyone

Living in Denmark gives you a big advantage when it comes to learning Danish — but what has helped you the most? Let’s share some of our favorite tips, experiences, and everyday strategies in the below discussion.

Discussion questions to get you started:

  • How has living in Denmark improved your Danish skills so far?

  • Have you found any creative ways to practice — like chatting at the supermarket, reading signs, or following Danish TV shows or YouTube channels?

  • What’s been the most surprising or difficult part of learning Danish through immersion?

Bonus tip for the summer:
Try reading a simple Danish novel or short story this summer to get you started!

My suggestion: “Frøken Ignora eksploderer” by Katrine Marie Guldager – a light and funny read about a rebellious girl that’s great for learners at A2–B1 level. It’s part of a children’s/YA series, which means the language is accessible but still natural and full of personality.

Have you read any books in Danish yet? Or do you have one you’d like to try?

Let us all know in the comments!

Happy Reading!
