Hello Croatian language learners!

We’re excited to take you on a journey to two extraordinary destinations in Croatia that you should know about. Whether you’re studying in Croatia, volunteering through Erasmus+, these places are great one day trips.

MEET HUM: THE SMALLEST CITY IN THE WORLDTucked into the green, rolling landscapes of northern Istria, Hum proudly calls itself “the smallest city in the world” and with just around 30 residents. In this mini-city, you’ll discover ancient stone walls, a Baroque parish church, a 16th-century bell tower, and the famous Glagolitic Alley—a seven kilometre monument path that connects Hum with the nearby town of Roč.

VISITING PLITVICE LAKES: A UNESCO WONDER YOU CAN’T MISS

If you’re living or studying in Croatia, there’s one destination you simply can’t skip—Plitvička jezera, the oldest and most famous national park in Southeast Europe. Located between Zagreb and Zadar, this UNESCO World Heritage Site features turquoise lakes, over 90 cascading waterfalls, forest trails, and wooden paths that seem to float on water.
