This year’s theme, “Languages open hearts and minds!”, highlights how learning languages engages both emotions and intellect. Across Europe, thousands of schools, organisations, and individuals will explore how language learning helps us understand other cultures, build stronger connections, and embrace Europe’s incredible linguistic diversity.
Did you know? The EU has 24 official languages, but Europe’s linguistic landscape is even richer. Over 60 regional and minority languages are spoken, along with many languages brought by migrant communities. Language learning opens doors to new possibilities, whether it’s traveling abroad, enjoying films and books in the original language, advancing your career, or simply boosting self-confidence.
