Labas,

Let’s be honest – when you first arrive in a new country, cooking is usually not the top priority.
So… be honest: have you started actually cooking yet, or are you still surviving on supermarket salads, frozen pizzas, and the occasional kebab?

If your kitchen is still in “decoration only” mode – I got you.
Let me share one of the easiest Lithuanian dessert recipes ever: Tinginys (literally means "the lazy one", so yes, it’s on brand).

Here's how to make it:

  • Crush about 400g of plain tea biscuits (any basic cookies will do)

  • Melt 100g of butter

  • Add half a can of condensed milk (or a few tablespoons of regular milk + sugar if you’re improvising)

  • Mix in 3-4 tablespoons of cocoa powder

  • Stir everything together until it’s nice and chocolatey

  • Shape it into a log or press it into a container

  • Wrap it up and pop it in the fridge for a few hours
Slice, serve, and pretend you slaved over it. You're now officially a Lithuanian dessert chef.
