You know that feeling when you realise Erasmus+ isn’t just a study exchange — it’s a whole era of your life? Well, that’s exactly what Erasmus Days are about. Every October, thousands of students across Europe (and beyond) take a few days to celebrate everything that makes the Erasmus+ experience unforgettable — the people, the places, the lessons, and, yes, even the chaos.
This year, Erasmus Days run from October 13 to 18, and Lithuania is very much on the map. From Vilnius to Kaunas and all the way to Klaipėda, local universities, language schools, and Erasmus Student Networks are planning events that bring international and local students together. And you’re invited.
So, what actually are Erasmus Days?
Think of it as an annual, Europe-wide festival dedicated to the Erasmus+ spirit. For six days, students, schools, and organisations across more than 100 countries share their experiences, projects, and stories. It’s not about grades or paperwork — it’s about everything that makes studying abroad worth it.
There’s a reason this year’s theme is “Live our values, inspire our future.” It’s about celebrating the open-mindedness, curiosity, and courage that make Erasmus+ more than just a mobility programme. It’s a movement — and you’re part of it.
Why should you care (and join)?
Because, honestly, when was the last time you had a good reason to celebrate being a student in Lithuania — in a way that feels global? Erasmus Days give you that reason.
Here’s what’s in it for you:
1. You get to relive your Erasmus moments.
Even if you’re not officially on an Erasmus exchange right now, you can still be part of the vibe. Maybe you’re studying in Vilnius from abroad — that is Erasmus life! Share your story, listen to others, and see how similar your experiences are.
2. You meet people who “get it.”
Let’s be honest: sometimes your classmates might not fully understand what it’s like to move to a new country, start from zero, and learn to order coffee in a foreign language. During Erasmus Days, you’ll be surrounded by people who’ve been there — or are there right now. Instant connection.
3. It’s the easiest way to feel European (and not just geographically).
Erasmus Days remind us that being a student in Europe means something bigger — it means being part of a shared story built on learning, curiosity, and cultural exchange.
4. You can discover new opportunities.
Many Lithuanian universities use this week to host info sessions about Erasmus+, internships, volunteering, and study programs abroad. You might walk in for the free snacks and leave with a life-changing plan.

How to take part
Participation couldn’t be easier:
Step 1: Go to erasmusdays.eu and filter by Lithuania to see what’s on.
Step 2: Pick one (or five) events that sound like fun.
Step 3: Show up, join in, and share your experience online with #ErasmusDays.
That’s literally it. No forms. No essays. Just vibes, stories, and meeting new people.
Make it yours
Maybe you’ve already seen our Erasmus+ Theme Song mini-contest — where students pick a song that represents their Erasmus+ experience. That’s also part of the Erasmus Days fun! So, if you’ve got a track that screams “my exchange life,” share it. You might even win a 1-to-1 Lithuanian speaking session.
And if you’re still new in Lithuania, this is the perfect chance to start connecting. Attend a few events, talk to locals, try some cepelinai, and maybe — just maybe — find your own “theme song” to this part of your journey.
_____
Erasmus Days isn’t about official ceremonies or stiff conferences. It’s about you — the students living the Erasmus+ experience every day, whether that’s in a dorm in Vilnius, a café in Kaunas, or a library in Klaipėda.
It’s your moment to laugh, share, and celebrate what it means to learn, travel, and grow in Europe.
So between October 13 and 18, don’t scroll past the announcements. Step in. Join the events. Tell your story. And let’s show the rest of Europe that Lithuania knows how to celebrate Erasmus life — loud, proud, and a little bit sassy.
Truly yours,
Karolina, OLS Community Manager - Lithuanian
