Let’s Celebrate Erasmus Days Together — Czech OLS Community Joins Europe
Every
October, the Erasmus+ programme invites people all over Europe to join
in the celebration of Erasmus Days — a six-day festival full of
inspiration, intercultural exchange, and personal stories.
From 13 to 18 October 2025, thousands of participants, schools,
universities, and organisations across Europe — including here in Czechia
— will celebrate the values of mobility, inclusion, and multilingualism.
Visit erasmusdays.eu for the official European
overview.

For us in the Online Language Support (OLS) Czech community, these days are a chance to:
- share Czech culture with new friends abroad,
- motivate language learners who are preparing to study or work in Czechia,
- and celebrate every learner’s progress — from “Dobrý den!” to their first conversation in Czech.
Why Erasmus Days matter to us in Czechia
- Mobility that changes lives: Every Czech student or trainee who studies abroad — and every foreign student who comes here — becomes part of a network that spreads understanding and respect between cultures.
- Language as the gateway: Whether it’s Czech, English, or Spanish, language learning helps open minds, hearts, and professional opportunities.
- Celebrating diversity: Our OLS learners come from across Europe and beyond. Erasmus Days give us the chance to hear their voices — in Czech, and about Czechia.
- Inspiration for the next journey: Czech participants returning from mobility often describe how learning languages gave them confidence to travel, study, or start new projects.
How our Czech OLS community can join the
celebration
(Yes, I am speaking about you)
1. “My Czech Story” – Share your experience
Anyone learning Czech is invited to record or write short stories about:
- What surprised them most about Czech culture.
- Which Czech phrase or expression they love.
- The funniest misunderstanding they’ve had while learning Czech.
Publish
these stories on your OLS blog (contact me about the rules).
Use hashtags #ErasmusDays #OLSCzech #StudyInCzechia.
2. “Czech Café Online” – Language exchange meetups
Join our
speaking sessions where Erasmus participants and Czech students can chat
informally in Czech and English.
We encourage participants to share small cultural tips — from simple ones on
how to order coffee to more complex topics on how to survive alone in a foreign
country.
3. “Czech Language Challenge Week”
Help us creae the content on OLS and post one fun mini-challenge such as:
- Learn a Czech idiom and use it in a sentence.
- Record a short video greeting in Czech.
- Find your favourite
Czech tongue twister (for example, Tři sta třicet tři stříbrných
stříkaček stříkalo přes tři sta třicet tři stříbrných střech).
4. “Discover Czechia” Photo Mosaic
As an
Erasmus participant (former or current), we challenge you to share one photo
that represents your Czech experience — a tram ride, a castle, a café, a
language class, a festival.
Create a colourful digital mosaic titled “Czechia through Erasmus
Eyes” and post it on your community site.
5. “Languages Connect Us”
Share your
mobility story as a Czech learner from abroad.
Suggested topics:
- How learning Czech can change your experience abroad.
- What challenges and joys come with studying or working in Czechia.
- Tips for using OLS effectively while learning Czech.
Conclusion: Czechia at the Heart of the Erasmus Spirit
Erasmus
Days remind us that mobility is not only about moving between countries — it is
about connecting hearts, stories, and languages.
For Czech participants going abroad, it is a time to share the warmth of our
culture, humour, and hospitality.
For learners of Czech worldwide, it is a chance to celebrate how far they have
come — every new word, every friendly “Ahoj!” is a victory.
Let’s make
this year’s Erasmus Days a celebration of voices, experiences, and language
learning — Czech style.
Join us online, share your stories, and show that in Czechia, every language
journey counts.
Follow the
activities on erasmusdays.eu and the OLS
Czech Community channels.
Use the hashtags #ErasmusDays #OLSCzech #CzechLanguage #MobilityMatters
and help make Czech voices heard across Europe.
