Today we are going to learn how to communicate and order food in a restaurant in French. This will come in handy!
Booking a table:
- « Bonjour j’aimerais réserver une table pour 4 personnes s’il-vous-plaît » means « Hello, I would like to book a table for 4 people please »
Asking for the menu:
- « Pourrais-je avoir le menu s’il-vous-plaît » or « Est-ce que je pourrais avoir le menu s’il vous plaît » (more casual) means « May I have the menu please »
Ordering food:
- « Nous sommes prêts à commander » means « We are ready to order »
- « Je vais prendre une entrecôte » means « I will have a rib steak »
After the meal:
- « Pourrais-je avoir l’addition s’il-vous-plaît ? » means « May I have the check please ? »
- « C’était très bon, merci ! » means « It was very good, thanks! »
