Dear Community.

"I don’t think of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains.” Those are the powerful words of Wartime Diarist Anne Frank who was a Jewish refugee in Second World War. Her story has lived on and impacted many because of the diary she kept while in hiding during the war. Her words give a remarkable insight into what life was like in Amsterdam 80 years ago. To learn about her life I would highly recommend reading the blog we just published here: https://academy.europa.eu/mod/page/view.php?id=16394

Share Your Reflection
Once you've read the blog or if you already know about her story, please let us know what you think of it. How do you feel her life can inspire us in the world we live in today? Do you see yourself in Anne? Are there lessons you can take away from her life? And are there parts of her story that you felt particularly connected to?

My Personal Thoughts
I learnt about her story when I was in school, read her diary and went to the museum in Amsterdam. And one of the most moving things about her story I always found that even though she didn't survive the war her dream of 'becoming a writer' did come true. And with her work she impacted millions of people throughout the world, including world leaders like Nelson Mandela. This, to me, shows the power of words and that you never know how your life can impact others, even if it doesn't feel like it in the moment you live it.

I would love to hear from you in the comments below,

Warm wishes,
