3. Exploring real life contexts for numeracy development
Watch the following one-hour long webinar by Aibhín Bray from the Trinity College Dublin who looks at what numeracy is, the contexts where it arises and give practical and relevant of when and how to teach it.

Look at the definitions presented in the webinar. How do they relate to the concept Numeracy as a social practice presented in the OER’s second section? Then, consider the following questions while watching the webinar:
- How does the content relate to the numeracy practice in my country, organisation, field of expertise?
- What are new elements in the webinar compared to it?
- Are there any challenges and potentials in implementing these new elements?
