The UMI training course is the entry point of the Union
Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM) training and exercises programme.
This course is the introductory level to understand the UCPM, disaster
risk management principles, tools and information, and the legal framework
surrounding civil protection and humanitarian aid. UMI also
introduces cultural awareness, diversity and inclusion as one of the cross-cutting competencies. Participants
will increase their self-awareness of being part of the UCPM environment.
The course will
also help participants explore their potential to develop as a UCPM deployable
professionals, in different roles and functions within the UCPM, enabling them to identify areas where they can contribute effectively.
