Introduction
Please note that this training is available in 3 languages: English, French and Spanish. You can change the language using the dropdown in the top right corner of the screen.
This training course is a first step on the path towards a possible placement in the pool of volunteers available for selection by Humanitarian Aid Volunteering projects of the European Solidarity Corps. The Humanitarian Aid Volunteering action is addressed to young people aged between 18 and 35, who have their legal residence in one of the participating countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Republic of North Macedonia, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Türkiye). The training path consists of four steps that will become available as you progress in your training path:
1) Self-assessment Questionnaire – You will learn about the world of Humanitarian Aid Volunteering and reflect on your beliefs and motivations. This step helps you evaluate whether this action is really for you.
2) Online Training – You will follow a specific training on the world of Humanitarian Aid and Development Cooperation, which consists of a package of 17 e-learning modules, corresponding to approximately 20-25 hours of online training (in English, French or Spanish).
3) Online Test – You will take a compulsory test to evaluate what you have learned. If you succeed, you will be able to access the scheduling solution for the face-to-face training part.
4) Scheduling Solution – This tool will allow you to express your preferences for the date and language of the face-to-face training (5 days in a training centre in Europe), to complete your training programme. Courses are offered in English, French and Spanish. Please note that for the first year, the number of places is expected to be limited to around 1000!
As the number of interested candidates is much higher than the number of humanitarian aid volunteering opportunities offered by projects, please note that there is no guarantee that you will be selected by one of the humanitarian aid volunteering projects after having completed the training.
