  Welcome to the Visa Code Training

  This course can be completed in roughly four hours, but we do not  recommend you do that. Instead, consider spreading out learning along a few days or even a couple of weeks, to make sure you have time to absorb the content and put it into practice. You can always come back to certain modules for reference later - we strongly recommend that.

  The asterisk (*) indicates that the Module has an activity or resource that learners need to complete.

  The course will be available in eleven languages during spring 2025.

  Introduction (10 minutes) - M0_fix

  This section offers an overview of the whole training and some key concepts for all learners. We recommend all learners go through this module.

  Module 1: Pre-application (45 minutes)_M1_COMP

  This module covers pre-application issues, including the different types of Schengen visas and the rules regarding who needs a visa and who is exempt from the visa requirement.

  Module 2: Lodging of an Application (50 minutes)- M2_fix

  This module tackles the lodging of a visa application, including rules regarding which Member State is responsible for processing the application, how the application should be submitted and what it should contain.

  Module 5: The Visa Sticker (15 minutes)_with Fix

  This module will introduce you to the process of issuing and affixing visa stickers. As in previous modules, you will meet a variation of factual texts, videos and exercises.

  Module 6: Entry, Stay and Departure (20 minutes) M6_fix

  This module covers the entry and departure procedures, as well as visa applications submitted at the external border. It also goes through when and how to extend an issued visa once the holder is present in a Schengen Member State.
