Welcome to the e-learning modules for the EIC Transition 2025. We would like to thank you in advance for your contribution to the remote evaluation of this call.
The e-learning consists of different modules to provide you with all the information needed to enable you to contribute to a smooth and fair evaluation of the proposals.

The EIC Transition team
This module outlines the Step 1 remote evaluation process, from proposal submission to the feedback to applicants. It shows the workflow involving remote evaluators (RE) and quality controllers (QC) leading the production of Step 1 Evaluation Summary Report (ESR) and to Step 2 (interview stage).
The slides outline the key actors in the EIC evaluation process and their distinct roles. Remote Evaluators, Quality Controllers, Jury Members, Project Officers, and Independent Observers contributing to ensuring high-quality, fair, and transparent evaluations.
The slides reminds of strict confidentiality, the need to declare conflicts of interest at all stages, and awareness of unconscious bias. They also set boundaries for the responsible use of AI during evaluation.
The slides summarise admissibility and eligibility of proposals. Checks are carried out by EISMEA staff, yet evaluators are invited to review this material and raise any cases where they spot a potential issue.
This module will provide you with an overview of the main elements of the Incipient Business Model that need to be included in a Transition proposal, as well as the key differences between E.I.C. Transition and E.I.C. Accelerator.
This module shows in more details what is expected regarding the assessment of Lump Sum Proposals
This module explains the evaluation framework for EIC Transition proposals, covering the three main criteria: Excellence, Impact, and Implementation, each with three sub-criteria and clear scoring definitions, clarifying how evaluators should apply them. It illustrates what makes a strong vs. weak comment, stressing evidence-based, criterion-linked feedback. It also introduces the eight additional questions.
