- The new European School Education Platform is now publicly available. Thanks to the financial support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, the new platform will become a hub for content, networking and professional development of the school education community, hosting all the content and services provided so far by the School Education Gateway and eTwinning platforms.
What is this webinar about?
As announced at the end of 2021, the European School Education Platform brings together services and content from the eTwinning and School Education Gateway platforms under one roof. The preliminary version of the platform was launched recently and cater especially to eTwinning users, who will find the familiar services of Groups and TwinSpaces on the new platform, and in a new format. Developing the platform to include the full range of services is taking place gradually over the past months.
During the webinar, the speakers will explain the objectives for the new platform and introduce you to the different areas and functionalities currently available, as well as offer an overview of the further development of the platform’s content and services over the coming months. The webinar will also offer you the opportunity to raise any questions you might have regarding the new platform and the transition period during which the current platforms and the new one remains available in parallel.

Speaker Panel
Markus Rester is Head of Sector - Online Education Platforms with the Schools and Multilingualism unit in the Directorate-General Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission. He holds a MSc and a PhD in Computer Science and was Assistant Professor of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) with the Vienna University of Technology before joining the European Commission in 2012.
Jessica Massini is Interaction Designer at European Schoolnet where she is mainly involved in eTwinning and the European School Education Platform. She holds a Master’s Degree in Science of Education and Pedagogical Consultancy for Organisations, and a BA Degree in Technology of Communication. For more than four years she worked as Interaction Designer in an innovative tech startup at the University of Siena. In 2015, Jessica moved to Brussels after being selected for the Schuman Scholarship at European Parliament where she worked as Graphic Designer trainee in DG ITEC - The Directorate-General for Innovation and Technological Support. Right after this experience she joined European Schoolnet as Graphic Designer, growing into Digital Media Coordinator, and becoming Interaction Designer in 2021.
Rute Baptista is a Pedagogue and currently acts as the Professional Development Manager, in Brussels, in eTwinning project, from European Commission. She works closely with hundreds of thousands of teachers from 44 countries, supporting, coordinating and managing online and face to face Professional development opportunities. Rute also works as pedagogical consultant and project manager to a consortium of Ministries of Education, European Schoolnet, based in Brussels. For 8 years and until 2012 Rute Baptista has worked in the Portuguese Ministry of Education dealing with European Projects and ICT in Education having collaborated in several projects and initiatives on this topic, at national level. Rute is a teacher Trainer and trains trainers in private companies in Portugal.She holds a degree in Pedagogy and is specialized in curricula development and project coordination.
