Dear community,
I have another exciting bit of EU news to share with you
today: the European Commission’s Education for Climate initiative has just launched
their Green
Comp Community! It a community for people and organisation building on
the ‘European Sustainability Competence Framework’ that launched in January 2022 to develop knowledge, skills
and attitudes to live, work and act sustainably. It is a convening and co-working
space for everybody interested in a greener EU.
About the European Sustainability Competence Framework (i.e., GreenComp)
The European Sustainability Competence Framework, or GreenComp, identifies a set of sustainability competences to feed into education programs to help learners develop knowledge, skills and attitudes that promote ways to think, plan and act with empathy, responsibility, and for our planet and public health.GreenComp comprises four interrelated competence areas: ‘embodying sustainability values’, ‘embracing complexity in sustainability’, ‘envisioning sustainable futures’ and ‘acting for sustainability’.
