Hello Dear Finnish learners! I hope your spring is going well.

First, I would like to remind you of our OLS Video Contest. The deadline for it is on 21 April. Please check the › rules and how to participate and win yourself an Interrail Global Pass!

Then, onto some piece of news from Finland regarding Erasmus+ Mobility.

The number of students and teachers going abroad has multiplied in the small town of Orivesi after the town's schools joined the renewed European exchange program. In the small town of Orivesi, an exceptionally large number of children and young people get to travel abroad. The reason is that Orivesi is involved in a well-known international program. The Erasmus+ program has given young people the opportunity for many international adventures alongside their studies.

The most important goal is to train young people to be active and responsible citizens of the world. That's why Orivesi has decided that one tenth of the students and teachers of all the city's schools go on study trips abroad every year. The policy also applies to the smallest schools and kindergartens. - Erasmus travelers get to experience it when the common language is something other than Finnish. Knowledge of cultures is often required in working life. Translated from the original news in Finnish ‹ Erasmus vieraita Iivarissa

On 27 March 2023 was the first Day of European Authors, which is an initiative to reconnect younger generations with book reading and to help them discover the diversity of European literature. You can read more about it here. › Day of European Authors
