Dear learners,

Tonight is a magical night like no other - it is Walpurgis night! As you may be able to guess based on the name, this celebration originates from German culture.

In Estonia, we call it volbriöö and it is believed to be the night of the gathering of witches. Children dress up at school and make different witch related craft activities. This is also a very special nights for students. Specifically in Tartu, many fraternities and sororities walk through the streets and visit each other's headquarters. There are many concerts and other fun social acclivities, which last into the early morning hours. After all, the next day, May 1st, is always a holiday!

Have fun and don't get scared if you see some witches around town tonight!
