Happy birthday OLS! July marks the one-year anniversary since the Online Linguistic Support was moved to the EU Academy learning platform and became Online Language Support. With 29 languages, a growing selection of learning material such as videos and quizzes, and the online communities, we’re here to help you make the most of your studying and working time in another country. There are now more than 100 000 members on OLS. That’s reason to celebrate! 

With the summer holidays nearly here, you can put aside the academic texts and explore other aspects of your language learning. Which is why this month we would like to highlight the blog articles the community managers publish regularly.  

These provide you with interesting, useful and entertaining content about the language you’re studying, of your new country, its history, and the achievements of some of the people who have spoken it. 

From a brief history of Latvian, the importance of Bunads to the Norwegians, why Hungarians change the names of foreign cities, to reasons to visit Genoa, and activities to do on your trip to Cappadocia, there’s a topic that will interest everyone.
