Dear community,
Today is the UN's International Day of Friendship where we celebrate sharing the human spirit through friendship. So give your friends a visit or call to celebrate your special connection and reflect on all the beautiful moments you've already had together as friends.
About International Friendship Day
In 2011 the International Day of Friendship was announced by the UN with the idea that 'friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities'.
One of the goals is to involve young people in community activities that include different cultures with the aim to promote understanding and respect for diversity. Here on the Dutch Learning Community there are also many young people from a diversity of backgrounds and cultures. So if you're interested in connecting with peers you are welcome to check out the forums!
Making New Friends
If you happen to be on the hunt for new friends as you are settling into life in the Netherlands or Belgium, don't hesitate to share a post here on the OLS forums and reach out to the community. Everyone here on the forums is friendly and shares the same passion for learning Dutch.

For now I wish you a very nice rest of your Sunday!
Warm wishes,
Marieke (OLS Community Manager)
Ps, because the technical team is working on the back-end of the OLS forums you may difficulty accessing the forums today and tomorrow. But don't worry, we'll be up and running soon again :-)
