Prepare to be captivated by a sight that defies expectations in the Serbian village (SR: selo) of Pačir, nestled in the Bačka Topola municipality (SR: opština). Amidst the flatlands of Serbia, you'll discover (SR: otkriti) a truly extraordinary phenomenon (SR: fenomen), reminiscent of landscapes one might expect in far-flung corners of Australia or Africa.

Pačir is home to a remarkable artificial lake (SR: jezero) known as the Red Lake or Malo crveno jezero. What sets this lake apart is its vibrant crimson waters, a sight rarely seen in the plains of Serbia. Its striking appearance is reminiscent of a painting, evoking a sense of wonder and fascination.

Covering an area of 2,000 square meters and reaching a depth of 1.6 meters, the Red Lake holds thermal, saline, and medicinal waters. The lake becomes a popular destination (SR: destinacija) during the summer months (SR: letnjih meseci), as it is continuously replenished with thermal water from a pump located at its base. To ensure comfortable swimming conditions, the thermal water is mixed with well water, reducing its temperature from a scorching 72 degrees Celsius to a pleasant bathing temperature of around 30 degrees Celsius. Any excess water is drained from the lake.

The distinctive red color of the lake's water is attributed to high concentrations of iodine, bromine, and lithium, which give it a unique and eye-catching hue. These natural elements infuse the lake with their healing properties, adding to its allure.

The Red Lake in Pačir is not only a visual spectacle but also a place of tranquility and relaxation. Visitors describe it as a delightful and picturesque setting, perfect for capturing captivating photographs.

While the lake is a testament to nature's beauty (SR: prirodna lepota), it also offers therapeutic benefits. The high salt concentration in the water, approximately 21-22 grams per liter, contributes to its healing properties. The warm, saline water is known to have a positive effect on the body, promoting overall well-being and providing relief for various ailments.

During the winter season (SR: zimske sezone), the lake is completely drained and the gravel bed is cleaned and maintained in preparation for the following summer. This ensures that visitors (SR: posetioci) can enjoy (SR: uživaju) the lake at its best during the warmer months (SR: meseci).

A visit to the Red Lake in Pačir promises an extraordinary experience (SR: iskustvo), immersing you in a world where the ordinary is transformed into the extraordinary. Whether you are seeking a unique natural wonder, a therapeutic retreat, or simply a place of beauty and serenity, the Red Lake in Pačir will not disappoint.

In addition to the Red Lake in Pačir, there are two globally renowned rose or red-colored bodies of water that have captivated visitors worldwide. The first is the famous Lake Hillier in Australia, located on Middle Island in the Recherche Archipelago. Its vibrant pink color remains a marvel and attracts tourists eager to witness this natural wonder. The second is the Red Sea, which stretches between the continents of Africa and Asia. Known for its azure blue hues, the Red Sea gets its name from the occasional blooming of red-colored algae, creating mesmerizing patches of red within its waters. These iconic rose and red lakes and seas continue to inspire awe and fascination among travelers across the globe.

The Red Lake in Pačir is approximately 178 kilometers away from Belgrade and around 93 kilometers from Novi Sad, making it accessible for day trips or weekend getaways from these major Serbian cities.
