September is a month of arrivals, new adventures, challenges, meeting new people, and starting classes in a new country - it marks your entry into the new world of the Erasmus Program!

There's no better way to kickstart your adventure than by participating in all the integration events that various universities and associations have prepared just to welcome you!

• In Portugal, most universities have a unique program of events for freshmen, which we call "caloiros" in Portuguese. These are special weeks to get to know each other and learn more about the university. Many universities also have buddy programs and even cultural events for international students, and you can always join in!
• If your university doesn't have these programs, you should get to know the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), a volunteer association with the aim of integrating international students. They organize various events, including museum visits, traditional dinners, and trips so that you can make the most of this new phase of your life.
