As we celebrate the European Day of Languages on 26 September, I thought it would be a nice opportunity to share a little bit from your language learning journey and learn something new from Slovak.
I'm curious: What's your favourite Slovak expression, idiom, or saying? It could be one that tickles your funny bone, warms your heart, or simply fascinates you.
I’ll start with mine:
Času ako čečiny! There is as much time as there are branches of coniferous trees!
Meaning: we have a lot of time, there is no need to rush
I like it because it is funny and very few people use it.
