26 September is the European Day of Languages (EDL). On this day we're celebrating the rich tapestry of languages that make Europe so vibrant and diverse.
Here's how you can join in the celebration:
Take a language challenge from the EDL handbook: you can pick any of the 51 challenges from the EDL challenge handbook, from easy ones to more demanding ones. We recommend the handbook and use it whenever learning a new language. Challenges make language learning much more fun!
Explore regional and minority languages in Europe: Europe has around 225 native languages. Have a look at the brochure that introduces some of the languages that are spoken only in parts of a country or specific areas of several countries.
Play a brain game: match Greek characters correctly
Share your favourite Slovak expression with the OLS community: add your favourite Slovak expression, idiom, or phrase and learn some new ones from other users.
And on the official website of the EDL, you can find many more fascinating materials of various kinds. It is definitely worth browsing through.
