Hello everybody!
I hope you're all doing great!
Today, the 11th of January is Heritage Treasures Day! Even though it started as a UK observance, it's becoming more and more popular in other countries too. I think it's an important occasion to talk about the value of our common heritage. Of course, by heritage, we understand both the tangible and intangible. Not only buildings, archaeological sites but also literature, arts, performing arts, traditions and languages.
If you asked me what, in my opinion, is the most important aspect of Polish heritage, I would probably say it's the language - I see it as the vehicle for the culture, thanks to the language we are able to transmit many great thoughts as works of literature, for example. Polish language played also a great role in building the nation's identity.
How about you? What are your thoughts? Is there any particular element of your national heritage that you think is more important than the others? Let me know on the forums!
