Hello, everyone!
Today is Heritage Treasures Day, a day dedicated to the appreciation and preservation of our cultural and historical heritage.
What do you think when you hear the word "heritage"? Is it traditions or monuments that represent your country's history? Every year, on January 11th, we share our heritage and talk about ways to preserve the monuments and conserve wildlife.
To celebrate this day, let's think about all the heritage that surrounds us and all the traditions passed from generation to generation.
In Romania, some UNESCO World Heritage Sites are:
- The painted Monasteries of Bucovina
- Wooden Churches of Maramures
- Sarmisegetusa Regia capital of the Dacian Kingdom in the Orastie Mountains
- Roșia Montană, historical mining area
- Monastery Horezu
