We all know and love Star Wars! Star Wars has opened up a whole galaxy with an infinite number of worlds, some of which have been with us since childhood and have shaped our lives. One of my favorite aspects of Star Wars is traveling. I just love discovering different peoples, cultures and beautiful planets. Sometimes you can travel to Star Wars locations and backdrops here, for example in Tunisia or Guatemala. What about you? Has Star Wars awakened your wanderlust? What is your favorite planet or landscape? Have you ever been able to visit Star Wars filming locations? Feel free to write about Star Wars in general, because I think you can never talk about it enough ;)

Weeeeell.... I was in the middle of replying to your other post (Singing In English) and then had to drop everything I was doing to run over here and share my two cents! XD

Ok, so I was never able to visit a Star Wars film location, BUT!, I was pretty close.

In 2015, I was in the theatre watching, The Force Awakens and gasped at the end yelling to a packed (and startled) audience; "That's Skellig Michael!"

I recognized the island immediately because a few years before, I hiked around some Irish cliffs with a friend who pointed out Skellig Michael across the vast seas. I don't remember a single word of what he said that day, but something captivated me about these ragged, magical peaks. So, seeing the island up close at the end of Rey's journey, somehow became my journey because I'd always wanted to go to the island, but couldn't. :D

PS: Your images didn't show up in the final version of your post. Sometimes that happens if the image is copied and then pasted into the text box. A surefire way to be certain your images show up in the final version is to upload the images. Click on the little image of the landscape photo in your toolbar to insert your image. Let me know how it goes!

Wonderful, that's my plan all worked out! I can just imagine how you are literally on the edge of your seat and just can't believe that Skellig Michael is appearing in a Star Wars movie! Funnily enough, I was watching a documentary about this beautiful island the other day and I couldn't believe it when I realized that there was just a monastery up there on the island! How did the monks live on an island like this? I've actually been able to visit one location, the area around Mount Teide on Tenerife. It was a very immersive experience, you felt like you were walking across an alien planetary surface. However, I have to admit something here: I actually haven't seen the new films  (Episode VII - IX) yet. The eighth part in particular, directed by Rian Johnson, is said to be highly controversial... How do you feel about it? Which part/episode is your favorite?

Oh, I hadn't noticed that...     I will test it directly later on!!

Indeed! Your plan worked incredibly well. :D

In fact, I know nothing about a controversy. Should I? Hahaha! I mean, I love the last three Star Wars films, certainly, but am blissfully unaware of any debates or battle lines being drawn about part eight. I'm almost tempted to go do a bit of digging to find out, but somehow it feels like it will tarnish the film for me.

As for favorite parts or episodes, I have to say that I enjoyed the evolution of Rey's friendship with Finn as well as the transformation of Kylo Ren. But, I shall say no more as - and believe me, I had to reread your sentence several times to understand you haven't seen any of the films - so I don't want to divulge any big spoilers.

Ok, spill the beans... You haven't seen them? Tell me why. I'm ever so intrigued.

So, I've now tried again with a new picture, I hope it worked this time.

It really is a miracle, there have been countless discussions and posts about the new films (and Episode VIII in particular) on social media platforms. But I can completely understand you, these heated debates are sometimes so toxic that they ruin the whole movie and the most important thing is that you like it yourself!

You don't have to worry about that anymore, unfortunately I've already been spoiled, so I already know a lot of the content of the new movies :/

To be honest, I have to admit that there's not much reason for it. I simply didn't manage to go to the movies back then and then missed catching up on them.

An important question just occurred to me: Are you more for the Jedi or for the dark side? And who is your favorite Jedi or Sith?

Hmm, I've thought about it some more. It's a fantastic question, by the way. :D

It depends. I am for the Jedi 99% of the time, as I value their ethos for the most part.

But I do wonder what story they would have if they didn't have a Dark Side to contend with. It brings to mind Yin & Yang, that both are necessary.

Then again, if I'm looking strictly at the film's world; I'd say, I liked The Dark Side for Darth Vader sake alone because of his strife and that somehow he was a bit led astray.

My current Jedi that I love is Rey & I love her friendship with Finn.

Darkside... hmm. Darth Vader generally, but he may be getting edged out by his grandson, Kylo Ren.

Over the decades, the writing has improved tremendously, so the stories and the internal conflicts characters face are way more interesting to me now.

PS: You did great with the photo! I can see this one. :D
