Today, on February 15th, Serbia commemorates its National Day with deep historical significance. It marks the onset of the First Serbian Uprising in 1804, symbolizing the nation's courageous struggle for independence. Additionally, on the same date in 1835, during the Sretenje Assembly, Serbia adopted its first constitution, the Constitution of the Principality of Serbia. Renowned for its progressive and democratic ideals, it abolished feudalism, making Serbia the first Balkan country to embrace such revolutionary reforms, heavily influenced by the ideals of the French Revolution.
