It was only recently that I came to realize there is a useful phrase in the Norwegian Language that does not exists in English. That phrase is “Takk for sist”.
Directly translated it means “thanks for last time”. You can say this when you meet anyone you’ve met before, to show appreciation of the last time you met.
It is also a way of showing that you remember someone you might have met a long time ago. In most cases, this simple phrase will make all participants in the conversation have a small reflection about the last time you saw each other.
Try this the next time you meet someone you have not seen in a while.
